Forklift Agency is a UK based forklift training company, we offer on-site training to company's who have employees needing training on forklift trucks. Although our head office is situated in Derby, our trainers are based all over the UK, from Exeter all the way up to Glasgow we can give your company the on-site training it needs anywhere in the UK.
My Employees only work night shifts and need training, is this extra?
No, we do not charge extra for training at night. Forklifts are used for night shifts quite often for a lot of businesses and we understand some companies may need to have training during those night shifts to make sure the pattern isn't disrupted. Forklift Agency can do your training during night shifts. However the earlier you book, the better the chances of booking in night training. So make sure to book in advance to avoid disappointment.
I need the training to start at a certain time. Is this a problem?
Our usual start time for training is 08:30am, But if you have certain requirements and need the training earlier or later, we can change the start time to fit around your company's needs. Just let us know and we can change the start time and inform our instructor before the training commences. Just let us know a couple of days before to avoid confusion.
I booked a refresher course with you, but it turns out my employees are novices, what happens then?
If you have booked a course with us e.g. a refresher course, and we arrive to find that they are needing a novice course, or vice versa, this is what forklift agency does:
- Notify the on-site manager of the problem, inform them of extra days/course change/or cut down of days
- Contact our booking co-coordinators to inform them of the situation
- We contact your company to let them know of any change and to advise on what they would like to do
- Once a decision has been made, we inform the site, our office and set all changes in motion.
Do you charge Per Person for the courses? And what is the benefit of on-site training?
No, We charge 'Per Day', this works out more cost effective for companies as usually they have more than 1-2 people working on-site. Training on-site means less disruption to the workplace as on-site training can incorporate your employees shifts. Please see the example below:
A Site Manager in Nottingham has 3 employees needing a refresher course. He calls "company 1" to ask for course prices. It is a training centre, and It will cost him £100 'Per Person' to train them. He will also have to send his employees to the centre.
The Site Manager then calls Forklift Agency for the same course and asks for prices. It Is on-site training, so an instructor comes to their site. It will cost him £195 + VAT 'Per Day' to train all 3*.
Company 1's total cost for training = £360
Forklift Agency's total cost for training = £234 Inc VAT
Going with Forklift Agency saved £126 in costs towards training
*Forklift Agency can train up to 3 people a day on most training courses. Some forklift trucks vary on how many people a day E.G. Counterbalance = 3 people a day. Scissor lift = 6 people a day etc. If you are unsure please contact us.
Do we have to pay instructor mileage, accommodation or certification costs for my employees?
No, We charge a daily rate + VAT for the training, that's all! Certification upon passing the course is included in the price and doesn't cost you a thing. And because our instructors are nationwide, no hotel, travel or mileage costs are passed onto you. We do offer extras such as I.D. Cards at £3 per person, but this is completely optional.
Do you supply the forklift/equipment for the training?
The on-site training is done on your company premises, so a forklift truck/ Lift Truck would have to be supplied by yourselves. If you do not have a lift truck on-site, please try hiring one from a local company.
I have a lot of training needed for my employees, what can you do for my company?
Lots of employees to train? Not a problem, just contact us via phone or e-mail to discuss your training requirements, we can offer available dates, book training in advance, and where we can, we will send the same instructor that's local to your site, this way your employees know who will be training them and can take away the edge and make employees less nervous of having a new instructor training them.
